Warranties & Returns

Good tools are expensive and quality tools are your friends. So treat them well. Take care of them. Use them the way they were intended. Clean them and put them away neatly and you'll rarely need to take advantage of warranties. But if you have to, we're here for you.

All warranties are from the manufacturer. Coyle Tools does not offer any warranties, but we will happily facilitate warranty service or replacements of any tool you purchased from us. Warranties protect you against manufacturing defects or breakage during normal use. They will not protect you if you abuse, cut, alter, heat, weld, grind, neglect a tool or use one beyond it's intended capacity. They will not protect you if you use the tool in a way in which it wasn't intended to be used. Every tool does NOT have a hammer side. NOT every tool is a pry bar.

If you grind down the sidewall of a socket to get it in a tight space, then crack it, you are not protected. If you find that wrench you've been missing for two years laying out in the grass the last time you mowed your lawn and it's pitted and covered in rust, guess what? You're not protected. So use it right and enjoy the warranty protection. Or use it wrong and know you voided the warranty. It's up to you. Just don't insist you didn't treat the tool in a way we can clearly tell you treated the tool and insist on getting a new one under warranty. We've seen every trick in the book and you won't show us something we haven't seen before. And that's definitely NOT a challenge, so don't get any ideas.

Proof of purchase is required for warranty claims, so save your receipts! Firearm warranties must be filed directly with the firearm manufacturer.

Send any tool with proof purchase to us requiring repair or replacement under warranty and we will repair or replace it per the manufacturer's instruction. Typically, we will replace any broken hand tool and repair or replace power tools and batteries. You are responsible for shipping costs to us, and we will pay for return shipping to you.

We post all warranty terms on the product pages in our online store. Typically, hand tools have lifetime warranties and power tool warranties vary from one to five years, depending brand and model. Battery warranties vary from one to three years depending on brand and model.

Would you believe there are people in this world who buy tools, use them for a particular project, then want their money back when they're done using them claiming it's a piece of junk or it doesn't work? It's like eating an entire meal in a restaurant, then complaining you didn't like it. Yeah, we can't believe it either. But they are out there. Because of them, all sales are final and we can't offer returns or refunds. It's how we protect ourselves. We hate to do it, but this is what happens when certain people ruin it for the rest of us.

We will issue a store credit if a direct replacement of a warrantied tool is no longer available. That way, you can choose a replacement and just pay the difference if the new one is more expensive. Sound fair?
